🕊️ Blasphemy Against the Spirit

January 22, 2024

MORNING MESSAGE

"The inherent sanctity of every human life, from the moment of conception until death, is recognized because each person is willed for its own sake in the image and likeness of the living and holy God."

- Catechism of the Catholic Church

Good Morning! As we start this Day of Prayer for the Legal Protection of Unborn Children , let us reflect upon this profound truth articulated in the Catechism of the Catholic Church.  It reminds us of the sacred value each life holds, irrespective of circumstance or condition. May we carry this awareness with us, treating every person we encounter with the dignity and respect they deserve as beings created in God's image. In doing so, we honor the sanctity of life and fulfill our call to love one another as God loves us.

REFLECTIONS
Gospel Reflection on Mark 3:22-30

Jesus Casting Out the Demons

In Mark 3:22-30, the scribes accuse Jesus of casting out demons by the power of Beelzebul, the prince of demons. Jesus responds by explaining the absurdity of Satan casting out his own demons, emphasizing that a divided kingdom cannot stand. He warns that blaspheming the Holy Spirit is an unforgivable sin, as it rejects the work of God's Spirit.

This passage invites us to reflect on the seriousness of attributing God's work to evil forces and the concept of an unforgivable sin. Throughout His ministry, Jesus performed miraculous deeds by the power of the Holy Spirit, demonstrating the arrival of God's kingdom and the defeat of Satan's influence.

As we contemplate this passage, we must recognize the significance of discernment and understanding the nature of God's work. Let us be cautious with our words and thoughts, seeking to align ourselves with God's will and honor the work of the Holy Spirit in our lives and the lives of others.
